I’m reaching out with a heartfelt and personal appeal to invite you to join me in supporting two causes I am deeply passionate about—causes that can transform lives and the future of psychotherapy.
The first cause involves improving the practice of psychology on a global scale
Imagine if more therapists embraced an embodied approach by incorporating one of the many incredible somatic modalities available today. Research overwhelmingly shows that including the body in therapy significantly improves outcomes and shortens treatment times.
The second cause involves broadening the definition of the “body” in somatic psychotherapy
We must include our two personal bodies (gross and subtle) and two shared collective bodies (changing and unchanging) to elevate the practice and effectiveness of body psychotherapy to a new level. Expanding this understanding will enable practitioners to create profound and lasting change for their clients.
These two missions are why I’m proud to serve on the board of the United States Association for Body Psychotherapy (USABP). This professional organization champions somatic psychology and body psychotherapists worldwide.
Here’s how you can support these critical causes and make an impact
