Requirements
What are the Admission Requirements to take the Integral Somatic Psychology Professional Training?
Integral Somatic Psychology™ (ISP™) is a master training for experienced clinicians who are engaged in psychological work with individuals or groups in therapeutic practice or teaching. If you are a psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, marriage and family therapist, counselor, art, movement or breath therapist, coach, bodyworker, energy worker, psychology trainer or educator, clergy, meditation or spiritual teacher, you will find the training valuable provided your work also involves psychological processing.
And, because ISP is a master training for experienced clinicians, you will find the training more valuable if you already include the physical body in your work to some extent. Your familiarity with the body can be through body awareness or movement practice, body-based mindfulness or meditation practice, yoga or bodywork, energy work, or training in body or somatic psychology or psychotherapy approaches such as Reichian therapy, Bioenergetics, Bodynamic Analysis, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy® (SP), and Somatic Experiencing® (SE™).
Upon registering, please use the application form to describe your professional background.
If you are unsure whether your present work involves adequate psychological processing or body awareness to benefit most from ISP, please contact your local coordinator to discuss your application.
What are the Admission Requirements to take The Physiology of Emotions Workshop?
The admission requirements for The Physiology of Emotions Workshop are the same as for the Integral Somatic Psychology™ Professional Training.
What are the ISP Certification Requirements?
The ISP Practitioner Certificate is awarded to those who have completed the ISP Professional Training, 6 hours of personal sessions, and 6 hours of case consultations from approved ISP providers. (Personal sessions and case consultations are at present not required for certification in all countries. Please check with your local training organizer or coordinator to find out if you have to meet this requirement for certification).
If you missed the first live training module you can join the Integral Somatic Psychology Professional Training live from module two after completing module one by video. Please select this option on your registration form.
What are the Assisting Requirements?
Participants have the option of taking one or more of the three training modules by video. Please see below. However, in order to qualify to mentor (assist) in a live ISP training, graduates should have taken at least two of the three modules live.
Live Training
Can I review a live training module on video?
Yes, students can review live training modules by video. Cost is $60 per module in the US. Please contact your local training coordinator for the cost of video review in other countries.
Email your local training coordinator with your request, and specify which module you would like to review.
Can I transfer over to another training location?
It is strongly recommended that you complete the training in the same location and with the group where you started. The community support you will receive and the coherence of group continuity is an essential element of the live trainings.
Requests for transfers have to be made at least 30 days prior to a training start date.
Requests for transfers are not available for no-shows, or if the transfer request is made within 29 days prior to a training start date.
Students making a request for transfer to a different training location need to consult with the ISP™ office to process the consideration of transfer. In the US send a request for transfer to info@integralsomaticpsychology.com.
With approval from the ISP office, tuition may be transferred to a new training location. If training locations happen to be in different regions or countries, tuition differences may apply. Payment of any differences is the responsibility of the student.
Can I take each of the live training modules at different locations?
